Fouché was launched in 2014 by Claire Fouché, former couture jewellery designer for Fabergé; born out of a love of artistry, storytelling and craftsmanship.
Claire is half South African and grew up between England and Africa. Claire's design inspiration stems from modern design in Africa; geometric patterns of West African Kuba textiles to Italian art déco architecture in East Africa. The collection reinterprets elements from Africa's design heritage into signature cuffs and statement earrings. The signature 'Diana Cuff' series takes inspiration from warrior style cuffs worn by Diana Vreeland.
The collection is hand carved by artisans in Nairobi, Kenya from locally sourced ankole cow horn and wood and finished by master craftsmen in Europe - using the finest metals and coloured gemstones from conflict-free mines around Africa.
Fouché jewellery provides ongoing fair-trade employment to skilled artisans in Nairobi and Kibera, Africa's largest slum. In 2012 Claire co-founded the Maisha Foundation to support young talent from Kibera in skills training programmes.
Fouché jewellery is coveted by inspirational women around the world, including Sienna Miller and Lucinda Chambers, and has featured in British, French & Brazilian Vogue, amongst other leading publications.
